Tu La, Xue Man, and the others were utterly devastated by Qin Qing’s performance.

Tu La, in particular, was too embarrassed to refuse her any further, even though he didn’t truly regard Ye Xiu as one of his own and only wanted to use him to deal with the Restorer Alliance. But he couldn’t admit that!

"Madam Ye, that’s not something I can decide on my own." Tu La adopted a humbler stance and spoke in a negotiating tone. "The most I can do is give you two totems and the methods to enhance them."

Qin Qing nodded. "That’ll do, then."

Tu La was baffled. Xue Man and the others were equally confused.

Tu La frowned. "This place is filthy and stinks. Is it really suitable for our distinguished guests to stay here?"

Qin Qing shrugged. "Then have your people clean up the Abandoned City. And after that, clean it once every three days."

With that, she and Leng Yue turned and left with their army of Mutated Beasts. This left Tu La with a growing headache.

He was the kidnapper, while Qin Qing and Leng Yue were the hostages. So how had the hostages killed over 4,000 of his Martial Artists? And now the kidnapper had to compensate the hostages with two totems, and even send people to clean the Abandoned City for them regularly. "And we have to do it every three days," An Bai said, on the verge of a breakdown. "Why don’t we just have the 200,000 troops live in the Abandoned City? That would make cleaning easier."

Xue Man scoffed, "Heh, if 200,000 troops live here, where will the beasts live?"

An Bai was speechless.

Meanwhile, Leng Yue was using the Stone Mirror to report the situation to Ye Xiu.

Ye Xiu replied, "You two did beautifully."

"So, Young Master, which totems should we ask Tu La for?" Leng Yue asked.

Ye Xiu told her, "Ask for an Earth System Totem and one like the Dongfang Family’s. Also, once you get the enhancement method for the Earth System Totem, send it to me immediately."

"Okay!" Leng Yue replied. She then turned and shouted to Xue Man, "Tell Tu La we want an Earth System Totem and one like the Dongfang Family’s!"

Xue Man called back, "Oh!"

The next morning at six, Tu La sent someone with the two totems and their enhancement methods. Leng Yue immediately transcribed the method for enhancing the Earth System Totem into a text message and sent it to Ye Xiu.

Meanwhile, it was the middle of the night on Xuanse’s side. Ye Xiu was hosting distinguished guests: every member of the Medicine King Valley’s conservative and neutral factions who had awakened the Life Totem.

"Master, why have you summoned us here?" asked the Valley Master of Medicine King Valley. He and Gu Mufeng, the leader of the neutral faction, now firmly addressed Ye Xiu as Master, finding it more dignified than calling him their owner.

"I’m going to use you for an experiment!" Ye Xiu walked behind Baishan Jun, placed his right hand on the top of his head, and said, "In a moment, I’m going to inject some Spiritual Energy into your body. Cooperate by absorbing it and let’s see if you can awaken the Second Stage of the Life Totem."

Baishan Jun trembled with fear. "An experiment? It won’t be dangerous, will it?"

"Don’t worry, it won’t be," Ye Xiu said, converting his Martial Prowess into pure Spiritual Energy and injecting it into Baishan Jun’s body through the Baihui acupoint on his head. He didn’t inject too much—just enough to awaken the Second Stage of the Life Totem. After finishing the injection, he asked expectantly, "How is it?"

"The Spiritual Energy entered my Dantian and merged with my Martial Prowess. Then... a black hole collapsed into existence inside my Dantian," Baishan Jun said, nearly in tears from fear. That black hole was terrifying!

"That’s the Qi Sea. Now, you are truly a Second Realm War God," Ye Xiu explained briefly.

So that’s it. It seems the reason I, Qin Qing, and Leng Yue were able to awaken the Second Stage of the Life Totem is that it underwent a transformation while inside my body. Perhaps this is the totem’s true form.

"Alright," Ye Xiu announced. "Next, I will help all of you awaken the Second Stage of the Life Totem."
